Mission Professional Centre – An Exciting Opportunity

The Mission Professional Centre has been approved and rezoned to Comprehensive Development (CD)-24 zoning which allows for many office and retail uses. Construction is planned to be underway this summer with occupancy in late 2014/early 2015.


The Mission Professional Centre is a state-of-the-art Class A medical/professional office building in the Comox Valley, and immediately adjacent to the future Comox Valley hospital. Our goal is to provide a medical wellness facility and professional offices for the Comox Valley that foster a safe and healthy work environment for its occupants and visitors, and utilizes forward-looking, sustainable design solutions in its construction.


The Mission Professional Centre is located at 2525 Mission Road, Courtenay, BC, near the intersection of Mission Road and Lerwick Road/Veteran’s Memorial Parkway. Mission Professional Centre is ideally located in a neighbourhood that has emerged as a central location for high quality commercial and residential development. Costco, Home Depot, Thrifty Foods and the Crown Isle Shopping Centre, North Island College, the Comox Valley Aquatic Centre, and the prestigious Crown Isle Golf and Resort Community are all located in this growing and vibrant neighbourhood. The decision to construct the new Comox Valley hospital here speaks conclusively to the long-term viability of this location which also has easy access and direct connections to downtown Courtenay, Comox, Cambell River and the Comox Valley Airport.

A landscaped walking path will connect the centre with the new hospital, providing ideal access between the properties without the need to use the automobile. From here, there is easy access to the Old and Inland Island Highways and Ryan Road, providing direct connections to downtown Courtenay, Comox, Campbell River and the Comox Valley Airport.


The Mission Professional Centre will include two 4-storey buildings of approximately 30,000 square feet each, to be constructed in two phases. The project will have 80 secure underground parking stalls, in addition to surface parking for +/-100 vehicles, for a total of +/-180 parking spaces.


The project’s aesthetics, and its relationship to nature and its surrounding neighbourhood are at the forefront of our design objectives. Use of natural materials and a ‘wood first’, environmentally sustainable approach will ensure that the design is visually appealing. Extensive landscaping such as gardens, water features, and rock work will create an inviting streetscape for the neighbourhood at the front of the building, as well as creating synergies with the new hospital to the rear. A tree-lined pedestrian walkway and bicycle path will connect the centre with the new hospital, providing convenient access to the hospital, and beyond to the Comox Valley Aquatic Centre and North Island College.


The property is located within the municipality of Courtenay and is zoned CD-24. Some of the permitted uses within this zoning are as follows:
